Welcome again to the column with all the hot tips for fishing Yorke Peninsula. You can contact Greg by email at greg@gregjamesfishing.com.au.

Port Broughton: Main reports for the past week (after school holidays) have been gar, tommy ruff (Australian herring) and King George whiting from Wood Point and the Plank shoals. The local jetty has a few tommies and mullet.

Wallaroo: Schools of undersize KG whiting are in the bay and at the Boiler grounds, with squid and tommies from the jetty in the late afternoons. Try the deep water drops south of Bird Reef for larger whiting to 34cm.

Moonta Bay/Port Hughes: Fat tommies and nice squid have been reported from both jetties, while boat crews are reporting snapper in the Steamer channel (to be returned to the water immediately) and whiting off Cape Elizabeth.

Point Turton: Boat crews are catching squid, gar and tommies from Port Rickaby, Hardwicke Bay and Corny Point. KG whiting reports are for decent-sized fish from The Banks and Point Souttar grounds.

Stenhouse Bay/Marion Bay: Crews fishing from big boats finally caught some tuna off The Althorpes and Seal Island; please be aware of the no-take zones that may apply. Shore-based anglers targeted salmon trout and mullet from Pondalowie Bay and Yorke Point. Both jetties are

worth a try for mullet, tommy ruff and squid.

Edithburgh: Squid and tommies are at the town jetty on the early morning high tide and there are salmon trout and a few mullet from the Sultana Passage shoreline. Boat crews are reporting whiting, tommies and squid.

Ardrossan: The huge school holiday traffic subsided as locals fished the jetty for squid, overnight soapie mulloway and tommies. Boat crews are running far and wide for KG whiting, gar, squid, tommies and pesky small snapper (return to the water immediately).

Tight lines and see you next week!
